This SAT reasoning test (general test) is the one most typically taken by high school students. Several specific subject matter tests are offered which some students choose to take and some colleges like to use as a further assessment. These tests are cheaper to take, shorter, and typically used to help with course placement, not for college admission. This particular reference guide does not address the subject area tests and the topic will focus only on the critical reading and writing portions of the SAT.
